Your Choices

When you first visit the app, we ask you to Accept analytics or Reject analytics. Necessary cookies run either way. Analytics cookies (PostHog) are set only after you Accept.

You can change this later via Manage cookies in the app footer (desktop and mobile).

We store your choice in your browser (localStorage key denthire_cookie_consent_v1). That record is not sent to PostHog unless you have accepted analytics.

Necessary / functional (always on)

These are required to operate the product. They are not gated by the analytics banner.

  • Stytch — account sign-in and session cookies (stytch_session, stytch_session_jwt).
  • DentHire app_session — presence cookie on the parent domain so the marketing site can detect an app session.
  • Google Maps Places — address autocomplete (script loads on the app).
  • Uploadcare — file / image uploads.
  • Twilio — in-app messaging.
  • Stripe — checkout and subscriptions, when you pay.
  • Google Calendar OAuth — calendar connect, when you use it.

Analytics (only after you Accept)

PostHog (US Cloud) — product analytics (page views and in-app events), sampled session replay, and frontend error reports.

PostHog is not loaded and does not send network requests from the browser until you Accept. If you Reject, or later switch to Reject, we do not initialize PostHog in the browser (and we opt out / reset if it was previously on).

Session recordings may capture what you see in the product after Accept. We sample recordings in production.

Server-side logging (not a browser cookie)

Our API may send application logs and error reports to PostHog from our servers. That does not use the cookie banner. We still treat PostHog as a processor and describe it here and in the Privacy Policy.

How long cookies last

Session cookies last until you sign out or the session expires. Analytics cookies follow PostHog’s defaults after Accept. Your consent choice stays in localStorage until you change it, clear site data, or we version the consent key (which will ask again).
